Art Toy Week 6

This week is the last week working on the four pieces before presenting to everyone in the class. In order to let my self be able to make them the same, i vacuum formed a template.

 

I tried to make silicon mold for the legs and eyes.

However, the silicon didn’t fully cured so I end up not able to use the mold.

Back to original plan with 3D prints, maybe i will try to make the mold again after the crit.

 

 

Art Toy Week 5

This Week I am making the packagings for the Toy.  I remember that when I was little, I used to have pet cricket, and I would put them in small paper boxes with air holes on top. Taking that as an inspiration, I wanted to make the packaging with brown paper box with air holes on top.

Art Toy Week 4

This week, we are focusing on finishing . I really like the texture that I had with my ladybug, so I experiment with different way to achieve that texture

Art Toy Week 2

This Week I experiment with a different sculpt, i did some sketch of cute insects, and i tried to implement them
I started with a foam sphere as the body, sculpt out the parting line between sections.

Art Toy Design Week One – Sketches

We started off the class Art Toy Design with the video of Paul Budnitz from Kidrobot.

Then started practice sketching with the technique that Budnitz mentioned in the video.

Starting with juxtaposition, I picked computer and slime from the pool of words.
